Transforming Into A New You

Because writing on the wall can be some kind of an affirmation… and if we write our affirmations large enough to believe that they are no longer just affirmations but a standard, then our new standard will raise the bar for us… and suddenly we find our self between A and B… and who knows what B has to offer, but it sure does offer differently than what A had to offer. And maybe if we were comfortable enough in A, why do we leave it? But this is exactly where we find our differences. Human beings are born different. Am different from my own sister and my brother, how can I not be different from you? And wanting to be like you will never be the way to try and be who I can be. And I can be great. Greater than me wanting to be like you. Greater than me wanting to stay in A. And ‘me’ greater than the great ‘me’ I would ever imagine. And the secret here is…. letting the process lead you to transform to great, and being open to what yet comes after great… the transformation is our most difficult challenge. But if we learn to have this under control as well, then we must know that we have succeeded in making our selves feel happy in any state we are put in. Content. Accepting. Open. Transformative. And Trusting the Unknown. 💛 Be you, completely who you are, the strange you, the fun you, the high you and the low. Be all of you, it is what makes you who you are. And it is what will make you great.

How Changing One Thing In Our Routine, Can Lighten Us Up.

Yesterday I posted on my instagram asking people what they do first thing in the morning.

The answers I got were mostly the usual things of opening our eyes, looking at our phones, heading for a shower. One different answer was, doing 3 yoga poses in bed which I thought must be a really good thing to try and do (if you are interested in yoga).

I sometimes feel it is always good to give our routine a change, an upbeat, something a little more ordinary to add on something new to our day, to our minds, and our attitude to life.

Some ideas I can throw in here are; watering your plants, doing a little prayer, kissing your loved awake or still asleep, meditating, or writing your morning pages.

Writing Morning Pages was my answer on my instagram in response to my question. It has been introduced to me a few years ago first, through a leadership camping training in Switzerland and second, in my writing group club in Amman. The former was used as a method to reflect and write at any time of the day on an empty page without thinking, just writing, letting all our feelings go into writing. And the later was taken from the book ‘The Artist Way’ and is done first thing in the morning, every day, religiously. It is a method to clear our minds and set our attitude positively to our day by using positive affirmations, positive thoughts, and goals.

Nothing is necessary for writing our Morning Pages, nothing is right or wrong, and no one needs to read them. They can be private or can be torn apart if it makes you feel more comfortable, but the idea is to write everything down every morning, first thing in the morning. Let it all out on empty pages. It is a great new start of the day.

They helped me make new self-realization, reflection, understand feelings, hidden thoughts, aspirations, dreams, neglect, it is just a very great way to understand oneself better, put what is unimportant aside on the pages, and put what we wish to attain from self-motivation on paper to remind us of our basic goals and dreams. Be gentle to my self, today, be gentle to everyone I encounter, smile, be graceful, walk with grace, speak with grace, listen with grace, give, with no expectations, no judgments, live, freely, loudly, happily, share, your dreams, and your love, be generous to yourself and to others… and this is how it goes.

I hope this blog post helps us live more positive. If you do have your own tip to share for a morning ritual, please comment and share.

From my Readings – On Embracing What’s Important, the Real Joy of Living

We spend so much time on unimportant things – things with no ultimate meaning – yet for reasons no one seems to fully understand, such nonessential stand at the center of our worldly existence. They have no connection to our souls whatsoever, yet they have attached themselves to our material functioning. Like spiritual parasites, these things eat away our life force and deny us our joy. The only way to rid ourselves of their pernicious effects is to walk away… not from things that need to get done, but from thoughts that need to die.

Crossing the bridge to a better world begins with crossing a bridge inside our minds, from the addictive mental patterns of fear and separation, to enlightened perceptions of unity and love. We’re in the habit of thinking fearfully, and it takes spiritual discipline to turn that around in a world where love is more suspect than fear. To achieve a miraculous experience of life, we must embrace a more spiritual perspective. Otherwise, we will leave this earth one day without ever having known the real joy of living.

Tell your story, and I’ll tell mine.

We create the stories we want to tell about our own lives. Who we loved, who we lived with, what we failed to achieve, our success stories, our friends, people who left foot prints, people who we choose to cut loose from our lives, people who we inspired, people who inspired us… We choose pieces from our lives to stick up upon the wall or just over the ground or maybe in our backyard or in the trash… We choose what to remember, what to be affected by, what to speak of and share and what to completely disregard as it ever happening. But what ever happened in our past is what made us who we are today… So step up & be proud. Learn that without those pieces in your life you would not be where you are today, learn that better things are coming your way, learn that those around can benefit from your experience, learn that by giving you will only be rewarded. So live life with true honest and love. Cherish the good moments & the hard. Let this world come into you like a little baby entering the arms of a loving mother. Not knowing what to expect but certain to be protected & given the best there is that she can offer to give.

How to evaluate what to hold on to & what is about time to let go of?

In life, we face the days that we can’t remember because they went by so quick, and the days that we will always remember because they truly carved in. Sadness & happiness are feelings that leave marks in us. They make us and create us and change us. We hold on to what carves into us, but some of us hold on too tight for too long that turn it into an attachment. Attachments become painful to let go, and therefore start to harm us.
By learning to accept; things be as they come, time frame is as is, not trying to control or change things but instead change within and be part of any process. Faith is all there is, we have been brought to life to experience, to learn and to grow, to expand and to change, nothing is the result of anything except what we wish to hold on to. Evaluate your life, yourself from time to time, and let go of what you have held on to for too long; that has not been serving you.

As Rumi once said:

“No matter what plans you make, no matter what you acquire, the thief will enter where you least expect. Be occupied, then, with what you really value and let the thief take something less. When a trader’s bales fall into the water, he’ll try to grab the most valuable things. Some things will certainly be lost as the water of life flows away. Let go of the cheap stuff and work to save what’s really important. Mathnawi II 1505-1509”

Motive of the day: Believe in the light of hope that exists in all of us even in the darkest nights, the light can be found.

January 20 2015

Marry-go-round

We sometimes don’t know what is going to happen, we care when the situation is so dear to us. We sometimes look for things or people to blame, we sometimes wish the world would end, we sometimes begin to see the world turn from bright light to dark night. In each of us; the light of hope exists. To each of us; is the choice to lightening it up, even if it starts with a very light light. This hope is there for us to choose to use, but not to abuse. It is for us to learn how it works & how to let it shine bright. Nothing comes easily, and specially not the good things in life. Some of us were lucky enough to start a life full of bright light but it is only to those who are grateful that this light might stay all bright. But to the most of us that take it for granted, this light will for sure hide. Those of us who have never believed in the hope light in us then we begin to see life as a misery, and those who were aware of their lucky start to a bright light will be certain to find that light again. This is the jolly of being aware of your existing luck, existing good, existing light that has been taken for granted because it was given all along. And taking anything for granted will take away the joy of it. And what is it like to live like a king but not feel it? Or live in love but not appreciate it? Life is magical, because the light exists in all of us, we just have to be aware of it, use it while it is there shinning for us, and look for it once it goes hiding from us. Those who were born with no bright light are also lucky if they believe it exists and go in search of it, because once it is found they will grasp tight to it. The beauty of life is being present, aware, appreciating, giving, loving & defiantly being very grateful in both bright times & darkness. Embrace your life, your light and the magical power of faith.
