Tomatoes Tomatoes Tomatoes Tomatoes Tomatoes Tomatoes  Tomatoes Tomatoes; Who doesn’t love them Tomatoes ? A fruit yet is always considered a vegetable, claims to be first used in Mexico and then spread worldwide, although if we look closely to any cuisine, tomato is mostly in all culinary, international dishes; except Mansaf 😉 but yeah, Tomatoes are mandatory, they come in soup, salad, appetizers, main dishes, drinks and dips.

Shopping for Tomatoes is no longer a one stop shop; instead you have varieties of tomato styles to select from. Around 7500 varieties of tomatoes are grown and to name some: slicing tomatoes, globe tomatoes, beefsteak tomatoes, paste tomatoes, pear tomatoes, cherry tomatoes, grape tomatoes, and campari tomatoes. Today China is marked to come first in producing Tomatoes, Turkey comes 4th, Egypt comes 5th and Mexico 10th, but in any mini market around the block, a tomato is there waiting to be picked up.

Benefits? Tomatoes contain lycopene which prevents prostate cancer, protects against UV rays, helps against sunburn and keeping the skin looking youthful. Tomatoes have double the normal Vitamin C, 40 times the normal Vitamin A, beta-carotene, vitamin E,  and high level of anthocyanin. How much more do you now love tomatoes? 🙂

At SUZIE|S KITCHEN we are all fans of her famous cream of tomato soup, trust me when I say you will love it, so here is her secret ingredients and recipe to making tomato soup.

A Yummy Dish

Mulukhiyah.

Mulukhiya is a truly delicious green leaves used as a vegetable in the Middle-East, they look like mint but taste somewhat like spinach or somewhat nothing like spinach but you know what I mean. Once cooked, Mulukhiyah results looking slimy and greenly and mostly not too appealing.

At SUZIE|S Kitchen which is also common between the Palestinians and Jordanians, Mulukhiah comes either in leaves and we call it rough Mulukhiah Khishineh “خشنه”or comes as a soup and we call it soft Mulukhiah Na’ameh “ناعمة”, it is also cooked with chicken or beef.

Give this recipe a try, you will love it 🙂 – We live once, try new food every day.

Chicken Pie

Chicken Pie.

If you are wondering what to cook or serve for lunch, dinner, iftar today, check out SUZIE|S easy to make chicken pie.

If you think about it, pies are pastries, and they are similar to bread with fillings inside so it is like a big sandwich. You can fill the pastry with almost anything, making your pie sweet or savory. Most pies are traditional and known internationally like: Chicken pie, Cheese pie, Meat pie, Apple pie, Pecan pie, Custard pie, Strawberry pie and Sugar pie. And there are signature pies that are made in specific bakeries or online recipes like: Chocolate & Pumpkin pie, Hot fudge brownie sundae pie, Sweet potato pie, Dark chocolate raspberry pie, Pizza Pie, Millionaire Pie, Tomato pie, Oreo pie and I can keep going on and on. The fun thing about pies is how creative you can get with it.

Find your Art

We all know that what we learn from our travels, can never be learnt anywhere close to our comfort zone “home”. But, traveling also made me realize that what I can learn back home can never be learnt anywhere else around the world.

So I decided to use my skills in organizing events and dedicate my time to put together projects that are both educational & inspirational. Projects that combine talented local artists, with topics that are not fairly explored in this region, and most importantly projects I find Art in.

My first project will be covering Photography. The art, passion, diversity, and possible opportunities this topic can offer.

Project Photography

Will take place in Amman, Jordan on the 14th of June until the 21st of June 2014. This project will cover the basic needs of understanding the use of professional cameras, and a general brief on photography. Then it will cover 4 topics with 4 of the best Jordanian photographers, the project will end with an open exhibition where all the talented photographers and their participants exhibit their best photographs.

Project photography is a seven day workshops covering topics like street portrait, fashion product, dance in motion, food styling in Amman Jordan by the professional photographers

In the exhibition, visitors will experience viewing over 10 photos of each topic. This experience will enable our understanding to the present diversity in the way we see things, frame them, understand topics and choose to capture each moment.

Thanks to my main sponsor Canon who supported me to cover my expenses and help make a small project a successful one. & Thanks to Spin FM for sponsoring my radio ads.

I will be posting more. Hoping to see the Art in this project together.
