Cinnamon Roll Cake Recipe

Honestly, this is probably the easiest and fastest cake I have ever baked.

Now the trick is, they do use a ready cake mix, which I kind of dislike, as I usually prefer making my cakes from scratch, but sometimes, you are just in a hurry and want to get just not any cake, but home baked cake. This can be it.

However, I do plan to try it out again by substituting the cake mix with the ingredients of the cake mix and see the turn out, I sure will update you all on that.

Meanwhile, and since this cake was very popular on my instagram and I received the most ever messages in my inbox with people asking me for the recipe, I no longer wanted to delay sharing it anymore. And since Ramadan is tomorrow, this actually can be (for people who fast) the best quick fix if you really get the sugar cravings after iftar.

I first tried this cake at my cousins house, and I loved it, asked her for her recipe, and she gave me the recipe of Cookies and Cups with her amendments which I have used and included below. I must assure you, this cake will become your next obsession.

So what my cousin changed in the recipe, is she substituted the icing to hot milk instead. And to be frank, the cake without the icing (that contains 2 more cups of sugar) is already very sweet, and the substation of the milk instead, gave the cake a moist to die for.

So here goes the recipe,

Please let me know once you do try it, I always love to hear comments.

Original recipe found on Cookies and Cups

The following has my cousin’s adjustments and some of my substituted options to some ingredients

Ingredients

1 Box of Yellow Cake Mix (I could not find Yellow cake mix in my neighborhood shop, so I used the Vanilla which was fine)

4 Eggs

3/4 Vegetable Oil (you can use coconut oil instead, I tried both and they worked fine)

1 teaspoon Vanilla

1 cup of Sour Cream

1 cup of Brown sugar (I used half a cup the second time, as 1 cup was too sweet)

1 teaspoon of ground Cinnamon

For the Icing:

1 Cup of Milk (you can use low or full fat and you can also use up 2 cups)

3 Spoons of powdered sugar (feel free to use less or even none)

For all the Chocolate lovers, this is your favorite Birthday home baked Dark Chocolate Pie…

Dark Chocolate Pie.

I probably never mentioned this in my blog posts before, but I am a chocolate lover, a chocolate addict, I think it is my weakest point. Get me upset, then get me chocolates and I will fall in love with you all over again. Yes, I am a big fan of Chocolates, and this here is a recipe for those who enjoy indulging in chocolate.

I first came across this recipe while I was browsing one of my favorite food bloggers,HummingBird High Blog. I am not sure what made me click on the recipe for it was called “Hot Fudge Brownie Sundae Pie” and I am not a big fan of sundaes nor brownies. But as soon as I saw the photographs I couldn’t resist not baking. I did change it a little and I did decide not to name it the same but instead, to name it ” Dark Chocolate Pie”.I did make this recipe few times before posting it and so I did find my own alterations, but the recipe is from the HummingBird blog and it is genius. I did create the pie in a heart once for my Mothers birthday and I did call it the “Magic Chocolate Pie”, and told all our invites to make a wish as they had their bites. I believe that when you are in a moment of bliss, a moment of ultimate happiness, or ultimate sadness, your wishes can be made from your deepest heart, and they can truly become true.

Here is a recipe for a delighted heart and an unforgettable taste of chocolate.

I have always enjoyed looking at photographs of food. I probably look at photos every day, it is a source of inspiration, I find, and then I get tempted to have some of what I am looking at, and next thing I find myself shopping the ingredients and baking.

One day, while I was browsing food photos online, I came across these yummy looking Cinnamon Rolls. I have never baked Cinnamon Rolls before in my life, nor have my mother ever baked us any. I even rarely order any. They are not my usual choice unless I was invited for some. But this photograph was irresistible.

Craving Dessert? Try this incredible chocolate Tiramisu recipe. طريقة عمل وصفة تيراميسو

Chocolate Tiramisu.

Believe it or not, I was never a big fan of Tiramisu up until I went for a visit to Roma; there I fell in love head over heals with Tiramisu. I also then realized, it wasn’t the Tiramisu that I didn’t enjoy, but the Tiramisu I have had in the past. I realized that as much as it seems to be a simple dessert, it is really all about the right ingredients.

It has been said that Tiramisu was invented not long time ago in the 1960’s and the word Tiramisu means “Pick me up or Lift me up” which is perfect sense to a great dessert. The basic ingredients of Tiramisu are the ladyfingers and mascarpone cheese.

Rome didn’t only teach me the real taste of Tiramisu, it also taught me that Tiramisu does not only come in coffee, but can come in so many different flavors, the original Tiramisu of course is coffee based. If you do happen to live in Rome, or plan on visiting make sure you try Pompi which is located near by the Spanish steps. There I have tried the best strawberry tiramisu, mixed berries, hazelnut, and the very famous classic Tiramisu. I also recommend that if you go, you should try the local Roman restaurant Felice in Testaccio that serves great local food and one of the best Tiramisu I have ever had. Not to forget mentioning one last stop in Rome for a great Tiramisu experience and a beautiful place to check out as well; Angelina, I tried the one that is very close to Fontana di Trevi and you can experience a Tiramisu in a jar with one of the best cup of coffees. If you wish to learn more about my experience in Rome you can always check my travel section by clicking here Rome.

And so it is only natural that when I went back home, I started craving Tiramisu again, and I didn’t know where to go to find good Tiramisu in Jordan so I decided to experiment myself until I find the best recipe ingredient, and so I did.

Today I decided to share with you my outcome of a great taste to a great home-made Tiramisu. I made several relatives and friends try it and I am certain that if you put the steps below together you will be very pleased with the results.

How to make chocolate Tiramisu

My recipe is a combination of 2 online recipes that I selected from over 8 different recipes I tried. I took the basics that I found delicious from Cooking with Ruthie as for the flavoring I decided to add chocolate from the recipe steps of Sugarhero and therefore my recipe includes a taste of chocolate added to the coffee based Tiramisu.

I would love to hear your feedback after trying the recipe below, I truly hope you enjoy it as much as I did, and still do, looking forward to hear your feedback on my blog.

Orange Cake Experimenting

I have learnt that with experience, learning, exploring, writing, baking and being all artistic in my own way is my way to get closer to discover myself, and since I will be meeting a lot of people for my next project, and since I wish to spread as much love as possible and since I have a beautiful blog and since I am trying to find myself…. Today I decided to start with exterminating baking with Oranges… and yes I want to explore and experiment until I find the best next orange cake recipe ever… I picked my first Orange recipe for this experimentation from the www.hummingbirdhigh.com by Michelle who is also behind my inspiration to start my own food section as a Middle-Eastern.

Before the hummingbirdhigh.com blog, I discovered the love for baking when I was trying to make moist chewy cookies that resembled to my childhood memory of some delicious cookies I once had. And after mastering my cookie baking “and I do bake amazing cookies” I just wanted to continue baking “the discovery of my passion for baking”.

Baking

So I went to nearest supermarket and started listing what I have to buy: Butter 1JD a stick, Brown Sugar 2.60JD, Lemon 1.30JD/Kilo, Navel Oranges 1.35JD/Kilo, All purpose flour 1JD a bag, Baking powder 0.75Fils, Salt container 0.40Fils, Vanilla tube 0.45Fils, 4Eggs 0.65Fils, Sour Cream 2.40JD. This recipe will cost (considering the amount needed): 10JD and if you do have the primary ingredients at home (Flour, Salt, Eggs, Baking Powder, Sugar): it will cost around 6JD. So I got what was missing from my house and went back home to start baking not my first cake with Oranges but my very first cake for this experimenting project: Navel Oranges upside down Cake.

I put my things on the table, played a song that has been on my mind all day by Shiny Toy Guns “If I lost you”

The original recipe: Blood Orange Upside Down Cake only I couldn’t find Blood Oranges and I am allergic to corn so I changed the recipe into all-purpose flour and navel oranges and renamed it to be the Navel Oranges upside down Cake.

NavelUpsideDown Cake

I also divided the cake into 3 cake pans to share it with family, friends and my most beautiful grandfather. It turned out to be delicious, and so much fun to bake. So yes, I do recommend you try it at home, and you can share your notes if you have any with me, and if you have any questions I can always get back to you.
